Airolo-Pesciüm ski area: opening delayed due to warm temperatures at high altitude

Valbianca SA announces that unfortunately, due to the lack of snow and the warm temperatures at high altitude due to thermal inversion, the opening of the lifts of Airolo-Pesciüm has been postponed to a date to be defined.

Valbianca SA informs all winter sports enthusiasts that the very mild temperatures at high altitude are worsening the already poor snow cover on the area. The thermal inversion of these days in fact, in addition to consume the little snow present, prevents the production of new artificial snow. Moreover, the weather forecast predicts sunshine and high temperatures for several more days.

This means that it will not be possible to offer satisfactory snow conditions by December 17 and Valbianca is forced to further postpone the opening date.

Valbianca SA hopes that in the next few days the temperatures will drop sharply to be able, in the absence of heavy snowfall, at least to produce enough snow to allow the partial opening for the holidays.
