Winter protection measures

Winter protection measures

Valbianca SA announces that the opening, initially scheduled for Saturday, December 11, has been postponed to a date to be determined due to the snowfall still insufficient to allow optimal snow conditions.

Given the delicate health situation in which we still find ourselves, we will continue our efforts to implement protective measures to counter the spread of Covid-19, paying particular attention to ensuring a quality offer to all winter sports enthusiasts and their different needs, doing everything possible to make everyone comfortable.

Protection measures in force in the area

Contrary to last year's situation, it is no longer necessary to make a reservation for the cable car. As required by the federal directives and by Funivie Svizzere, most of the other protective measures remain in force, in particular the respect of the increased hygienic norms, as well as the obligation to wear a mask (from 12 years old) in the departure area of the cable cars, in the internal and external waiting areas, on the cable cars, in all internal buildings and where it is not possible to guarantee the social distances (i.e. queues at the lifts).

Quality gastronomic offer attentive to different needs

For gastronomy the protection plans of Gastrosuisse and the rules issued by the Federal Council are valid: covid certificate compulsory for people over 16 years old inside restaurants. For those who consume outside, the certificate is not required but they will have to wear a mask if they go inside the buildings or in the internal spaces accessible to the public.
The access to La Stüa and to the self-service restaurant "La Sala" will be allowed only upon presentation of a valid covid certificate. In Ravina, at La Chièuna and on the terrace of La Stüa it will be possible to eat outside for those who are not in possession of a covid certificate.

Introduction of the "2G" concept at Chièuna

In order to make the visit to Airolo more pleasant for our affectionate customers, we have decided that inside the bar "La Chièuna" the "2G" concept will be applied. This means that only vaccinated or healed people will be allowed to enter. Thanks to this decision, inside La Chièuna there will be no obligation to wear a mask or to consume drinks and food while seated. The 2G concept applies to people aged 16 and over.

All applicable regulations and protective measures are indicated and constantly updated on this page.

Events and entertainment in the area

If during the winter the health situation will allow it, our intention is to animate the area with events dedicated to all snow lovers. In particular there will be the Gastro Racchettata in Pesciüm on December 29, the Stralünèda on January 7, the Moonlight Racchettata on January 15, the World Snow Day on January 16, the Pesciüm Winter Skyrace on February 13, the Migros Grand Prix on February 19, the Migros Family Day on February 20, the European Freestyle Cup from March 18 to 21, and the ski days for disabled children on March 19 and 20.

The calendar of events will be further enriched over the winter and will be available on our website in the coming weeks.

In the hope of soon being able to allow all fans to spend wonderful days on the snow, we appeal once again to the individual responsibility of everyone and wish you all a fantastic winter!
