Avalanche Training Center: free training day
AVALANCHE TRAINING CENTER: FREE TRAINING DAY WITH "MONTAGNE SICURE"
Thanks to its extraordinary natural resources and breathtaking landscapes, the mountains in Ticino have always been an ideal destination for young people and adults, residents and tourists, all year round. However, behind the allure of these enchanting places, dangers can sometimes be hidden, some of them quite serious.
The prevention project "Montagne Sicure," promoted by the Department of Institutions, aims to raise awareness among those who, regardless of the season, choose to spend their time or engage in sports activities in the mountains.
The project benefits from the collaboration of numerous cantonal and national partners who, in addition to having specialized expertise in safety and prevention, actively participate in the widespread dissemination of awareness messages.
On Friday, March 7, 2025, the "Montagne Sicure" program is offering a training day at the Avalanche Training Center (ATC), located in Pesciüm, near the restaurant. The event, coordinated by the Research and Investigation Group of the Cantonal Police, is a great opportunity to learn the correct use of rescue equipment in case of avalanches.
The free activity will take place in the afternoon from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM at the ATC center in Pesciüm.
If you wish to participate, no registration is required (with a minimum commitment of one hour). You simply need to show up at the ATC center.
