Day on the Alp

Are you curious to know how cheese, cream, and butter are made? Why is alpine cheese so special? How do cows live on the alp, and how much work does a herdsman have to do?

You’ll find the answers to these questions—and much more—on Sunday, July 20, during a special day with Ezio Pedrini, who has managed the Pesciüm Alp for over 50 years. Discover all the secrets of cheese production, from mountain pasture to your table, thanks to Ezio, who looks after the cattle and ensures the cows stay healthy. You'll have the chance to witness milking and experience life on the alp firsthand.

Meeting point at 9:45 a.m. in Pesciüm, with a tour of the milking facilities and an introduction to alpine farm management.

We'll then move to La Stüa, where children can take part in a blind cheese tasting, trying to guess which one is the cheese from the alp!

Lunch will follow at the La Stüa restaurant in Pesciüm.

In the afternoon, we’ll visit the cheese dairy and learn about the production of cheese, cream, and butter. Around 4:00 p.m., there will be an opportunity to watch the cows being milked.

Join our alpine herdsman on a journey through the seasons and discover the secret of excellent cheese!
