Getting to Airolo: what’s new for winter 2025–26

Valbianca, member of the Swisstainable program, remains committed to more sustainable travel. That means encouraging guests to use public transport and making it easier than ever to reach the Airolo-Pesciüm lifts.

Public transport: simpler than ever

Starting this season, the shuttle service has been discontinued. Instead, access to the lifts is now even more direct thanks to the new bus stop “Airolo, Caseificio/Funivia” on line 120, located just steps from the cable car.

Coming by car?

Guests arriving by car can continue to use the parking areas at the lifts. Parking is subject to a fee, which helps cover site management and winter maintenance.

Parking fees:

  • Day parking: CHF 5.– (payable via ParkingPay or at the ticket office)
  • Day parking for buses: CHF 20.– (via ParkingPay or at the ticket office)
  • Week parking for buses: CHF 40.– (via ParkingPay or at the ticket office)
  • Season parking pass: CHF 80.– (available at the ticket office, ideal for regular visitors)

Discounted season pass for local residents: Residents of Airolo and Quinto can purchase the season parking pass for CHF 40.–

  • Quinto residents must present their Quinto Card at the ticket office.
  • Information for Airolo residents will follow shortly.

Camper area: A designated camper area is available at the parking entrance, clearly marked on the right.

  • Camper overnight fee: CHF 18.– per night

Paying for parking

Payment is quick and easy, with two options available:

Digital payment

Pay via the ParkingPay app, TWINT or credit card by scanning the QR codes displayed throughout the parking area.

Payment at the ticket office

For those who prefer to pay in person, payment can be made directly at the ticket office.

Camper payment details

Camper stays are normally paid online via Parknsleep, a platform well known among camper travelers.If you’d rather pay at the ticket office, you can do so for CHF 18.–, plus CHF 1.– per person for the local tourist tax. In this case, no online registration or license plate entry is required, simply pay at the counter.
